Bathroom Hippo Wiki

(Everything you need to know about the beloved blogger)

Introduction

Bathroom Hippo was based upon a 1960's Hanna-Barbera character known as Peter Potamus. Peter Potamus became a recurring character on Harvey Birdman: Attorney at Law. The blog http://thingisent.blogspot.com was named after Peter Potamus' trademark phrase "Did you get that thing I sent you?"

The blogger Bathroom Hippo had two blogs before the successful http://thingisent.blogspot.com . The first was a federalist political blog, and the second was a Bob Dole parody blog. Bathroom Hippo is a 23 year old college student who currently resides in Northern Utah. His hobbies include catching frogs, programming, movie making (sometimes), and playing online multiplayer war games. He is known to be a huge MythBusters fanatic.

Roboshrub Inc.

Gyrobo and Roboshrub (both bloggers) were among the first viewers of The Federalist Solution (the first blog) and inspired Bathroom Hippo to create his current blog. Roboshrub Inc. characters are often portrayed as close friends of Bathroom Hippo in his animated flash movies. They are crucial to the plot of each animated adventure.

The Basic Idea

Originally the idea of the blog was to create manipulated JPEGS of various cartoon characters in odd situations. This quickly changed to creating a comic series, commentary on various topics, and finally adventuring into animation.

Potamus Productions

After weeks of experimenting with animated gifs, Bathroom Hippo adventured into Flash animation on July 10th, 2006 and on July 14th, 2006 Potamus Productions was born. 3 minute animated flash movies can take anywhere from 10 to 20 hours to produce. Bathroom Hippo's favorite works include: Maskatron, Gist Album, and Casino Octobob. The first few movies had sound/animation delays which were difficult to fix. Eventually Bathroom Hippo mastered the art. Occasionally he assists Roboshrub Inc. with flash animation.
